After three seasons of coaching in the NFL with the Washington Commanders, former Stanford quarterback, John Smith, is returning to his roots. The news has been met with excitement and anticipation from both the Stanford and NFL communities.

Smith, who played for Stanford from 2009 to 2013, was a standout quarterback and led the team to multiple victories during his time there. His impressive skills on the field caught the attention of many NFL teams, and he was eventually drafted by the Washington Commanders in 2014.

For the past three seasons, Smith has been a part of the Commanders’ coaching staff, working closely with the quarterbacks and helping to develop their skills. He has been praised for his dedication and hard work, and has gained a reputation as a talented and knowledgeable coach.

However, despite his success in the NFL, Smith has always remained connected to his alma mater. He has often spoken about his love for Stanford and how it shaped him both as a player and as a person. So when the opportunity arose for him to return to his roots, he didn’t hesitate to take it.

“I am thrilled to be coming back to Stanford,” Smith said in a recent interview. “This is where it all began for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the university that gave me so much.”

Smith’s return to Stanford has been met with excitement and enthusiasm from the players, coaches, and fans alike. His former teammates have expressed their joy at having him back on campus, and the current players are eager to learn from his experience and expertise.

“John was a great leader on and off the field during his time at Stanford,” said current Stanford quarterback, Jake Thompson. “I am excited to have him back as a coach and I know he will have a positive impact on our team.”

Smith’s return to Stanford is not only a homecoming for him, but it also marks a new chapter in his coaching career. He will be taking on the role of offensive coordinator, a position that he is well-suited for given his experience and knowledge of the game.

“I am looking forward to working with the talented players and coaches at Stanford,” Smith said. “I am confident that together we can achieve great things and continue the legacy of excellence that Stanford football is known for.”

The Stanford community is also thrilled to have Smith back on campus. His return has reignited the excitement and passion for the football program, and many are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.

“John’s return to Stanford is a testament to his love for the university and his commitment to the football program,” said Stanford’s athletic director, Sarah Jones. “We are excited to have him back and we know he will make a positive impact on our team.”

As Smith settles back into life at Stanford, he is determined to continue the winning tradition of the football program. He is focused on developing the players both on and off the field, and creating a strong and united team that will bring success to the university.

“I am grateful for my time in the NFL, but coming back to Stanford feels like coming home,” Smith said. “I am ready to work hard and help the team reach new heights. Go Cardinal!”

With Smith’s return to his roots, the future looks bright for Stanford football. His passion, dedication, and expertise will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the team, and the entire community is excited to see what he can achieve in his new role. Welcome back, John Smith!
