The Mamã Madalena Shelter and the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion in the Urban Districts of Cazenga and Benfica benefited today, December 20th, from a donation of essential goods, including perishable and non-perishable food items, clothing, beds, and toys, as part of a social responsibility initiative by MINEA.
The act of solidarity aimed to provide moments of fellowship and solidarity to the needy children in these centers, as part of the festive celebrations of the year 2023.
The Mamã Madalena Shelter was one of the first recipients of this philanthropic action, currently housing around 90 children. Established on May 15th, 2021, by Mamã Madalena Catué, the center consists of 7 dormitories (some still under construction), a kitchen, two bathrooms, a school (offering education from 1st to 9th grade), a playground, and a recreation room. The Mamã Madalena shelter welcomes youth from various parts of Angola and is located in the Cazenga district in the Kima Kieza area.
Subsequently, the focus shifted to the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion in the urban district of Benfica. Currently, the center serves 115 beneficiaries, with 3 literacy classrooms, an arts and drawing room, a computer room, space for kitchen and table assistant training, a hairdressing training room, a room for family psychological support, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy.
