WazirX, one of India’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has been in the news recently due to a major hack that affected its users. The exchange, which is owned by Binance, lost an estimated $230 million (roughly Rs. 1,970 crore) in the attack. This has caused a lot of worry and frustration among WazirX users, who are eagerly waiting for their funds to be reimbursed. However, it seems that they will have to wait a little longer as the Singapore High Court has rejected the exchange’s restructuring scheme.

The hack took place in May, and since then, WazirX has been working tirelessly to recover the stolen funds and ensure that its users are not left in a lurch. In April, the exchange had proposed a restructuring plan which was approved by its creditors. This plan involved the creation of a new entity, WazirX Global Services, which would take over the operations of the exchange and repay the affected users. However, the exchange requires the court’s permission to execute this plan, and unfortunately, the court has rejected it.

This news comes as a major blow to WazirX and its users, who were hoping for a speedy resolution to the hack. The exchange has been facing a lot of criticism and backlash from its users, who have been demanding answers and a timeline for the reimbursement of their funds. The rejection of the restructuring plan has only added to their frustration.

The Singapore High Court’s decision was based on the fact that WazirX is not registered as a company in Singapore, and therefore, the court does not have jurisdiction over its operations. The court also noted that the exchange’s creditors are mainly located in India, and therefore, the matter should be dealt with in the Indian courts. This has caused a major setback for WazirX, as it now has to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new plan to reimburse its users.

Despite this setback, WazirX remains committed to resolving the issue and ensuring that its users are not affected by the hack. The exchange has assured its users that their funds are safe and that it is working on a new plan to repay them. It has also stated that it is in talks with the Indian authorities to seek their support in this matter.

The rejection of the restructuring plan is a major hurdle for WazirX, but it is not the end of the road. The exchange is determined to find a solution and has already initiated talks with its creditors to come up with a new plan. It has also assured its users that it will keep them updated on any developments and will do everything in its power to ensure that their funds are reimbursed as soon as possible.

In the face of this setback, it is important for WazirX users to remain patient and have faith in the exchange. The fact that the exchange has been able to recover a significant portion of the stolen funds is a testament to its commitment to its users’ security and well-being. The exchange has also implemented several security measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

In conclusion, the rejection of the restructuring plan by the Singapore High Court is a major setback for WazirX and its users. However, the exchange remains determined to find a solution and ensure that its users’ funds are reimbursed. It is important for WazirX users to remain patient and have faith in the exchange, which has proven its commitment to their security and well-being. With the exchange working tirelessly to resolve the issue, it is only a matter of time before the affected users are reimbursed and WazirX can resume its operations as usual.
