IV Energy Security Dialogue Between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States was held at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. This meeting aimed to discuss support for energy security regarding Angola’s energy production and electricity access.
Leading the Angolan delegation was João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, while Geoffrey Pyatt, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources, headed the American delegation.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) concentrated on matters related to ensuring a secure and stable energy supply and enhancing commercial relationships in this sector.
The discussions between João Baptista Borges and Geoffrey Pyatt primarily revolved around the secure and stable supply of energy, fostering commercial connections between the two nations in this domain, and exploring broader energy security topics.
The meeting also included participation from José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum, as well as the Chairpersons of the Boards of Directors of PRODEL-EP (Pedro Afonso), RNT-EP (Rui Gourgel), ENDE (Helder Adão), and Sonangol (Sebastião Martins). Additionally, José Quarta represented the Board of IRSEA, along with representatives from ANPG.
