Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, as the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized at the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM) the crucial role of collaboration between workers and employers in advancing the country. She stressed the commitment to expanding labor rights and avoiding regression to previous eras.
In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted the necessity of unified goals and purposes to sustain Mexico’s public life transformation. She reaffirmed the priority of continuing the Fourth Transformation, preventing a return to periods characterized by corruption and privilege.
Following the inauguration of the initial Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the dedication to ensuring dignified lives for workers. She emphasized the significance of cooperation between the labor and business sectors, a strategy endorsed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and General Secretary of CATEM, underscored achievements resulting from cooperation between labor representatives and the 4T government, such as raising the minimum wage and eliminating outsourcing. He stressed the importance of guiding decisions based on the principles of the 4T movement.
Senator Ricardo Monreal emphasized the need to strengthen the relationship between workers and the government to further expand labor rights, under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.
The XV National Congress of CATEM was attended by figures like Mario Delgado Carrillo, National President of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, demonstrating broad support for the discussed principles and objectives.
